The Bayou Brothers was formed back in 1995 by DJ Phenix W. Crowley and partnered up with DJ Elmo D. Stepehens and produced many Electro hard breaks also collaberating with many other producers of the same genre.
Biography: Originally from NewSB, Florida, i moved to Detroit, Michigan in 1984. Under an Electro/Techno influence until 1987, i moved to outside the New Orleans area in Louisiana. Influenced now by the combination of Detroit Electro/Techno and Southern Freestyle music, i began djing in 1989 also forming Rek Productions. I listened to the only Louisiana techno radio shows in 1990 on, 91.1 fm club klsu and 104.1 fm, The Zepher Zone in New Orleans I also met Dj Mike Spice at Sharky's Groove and later spent many hrs at Spice Records. I would watch how they would mix and listen to the way it sounded when it was mixed and also to their advice. One night in New Orleans I was thrown on the tables and was alone for four hours in The Chronic. I've been mixing ever since...
I've organized and played large events, record releases, as well as club events in the Louisiana area and out of state since 1990. I play a mixture of electro-breakbeat, Nu-Skool breaks hard funky trance. I've co-produced 22 tracks as The Bayou Bros and over 20 solo tracks as Project Phenix. Most of these tracks have been pressed on 12" vinyl, distributed world wide by Watts Music, Subsonic, Syntax, Nemisis, TRC & Future music.
The Future Is Now: Finally finding time to spend in the studio and have several projects in the works including a brand new release slated for a digital release on Funklab Records although no more info is confirmed at this time but I'll post updates as they come in. You may want to listen to some tracks you may have missed and can be heard at the soundcloud page listed on this page. *If you'd like a remix done or an original track please contact me and let me know, as we no longer run our own labels and are shopping for a new home with a company that has music at heart and not money. This is a passion and not a bizz !

Happy New Year everyone, so glad the Myans were smoking too much and got the date wrong. With that said, alot of good music coming down the road of 2013 on FunkLab Records from alot of artists.
